The 2007 Scholarship Topic:
Earlier this year, the United States of America lost our oldest living president, Gerald R. Ford. Ford served as the 38th President of the United States, and assumed that role when he succeeded the first president ever to resign from office, Richard M. Nixon. Ford had a reputation for integrity and openness that made him popular during his 25 years in Congress and two years in the Oval Office. In 1000 words, tell us your opinion of President Gerald Ford, and why you feel the way you do. Do you feel he helped to heal our nation or harm it by pardoning former President Nixon?
Students should submit the following:
1. A cover letter from the applicant stating
* Current High School
* Expected Graduation
* Where you plan to continue your education
* What receiving the scholarship will do to assist in achieving your goals
2. A scholarship application (download it here)
3. A completed essay
